There's no place like home...

Happy Hump Day! I am so excited to come home tomorrow and see my hubby!
I have some finds to share tonight that I thought were unique and worthy of posting...

I think this vanity would be great in a bedroom, I had one growing up and I loved it. It looks like it is in great condition. They are asking $80 and it can be found here.

I would definitely recover the seat in a more updated fabric like this one  from fabric.com,

I would also change the hardware on the drawer as well, with something like these from Etsy.

I really love the simplicity of this cabinet. It is a brick red color but could easily be repainted to match your decor. They are asking $40 for it and it can be found here.

This little rattan table and chair set is just too cute. It could be used so many places and looks to be in great shape! They are asking $75 and it can be found here.

I just love this little plant stand. It is about 3.5 ft tall. The blue could add some color to your decor or could easily be repainted. I may go after this  one myself to use in the corner of our living room with a plant on it! They are asking $30 and it is here.

Have a marvelous Thursday! Bring on the weekend!

Some sweet deals on a sweet fall Sunday...

I had some time to thrift store shop today with Taylor and we found some great deals! If you are ever in the Fuquay area, you have to visit Guardian Angel Thrift, they have some great furniture finds!

Tonight I have found some really cheap finds! The first is a kitchen table with four chairs for $40. It is hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like it is in good condition. At this price, you can re-paint the table and chairs and re-cover those seat cushions!
 It can be found here.

I think this shelf is perfect for a child's bedroom or a classroom. They are only asking $15 for it!
 It can be found here.

I saw this tack-board and fell in love. It would be perfect in your kitchen with reminders and recipes tacked to it. It is only $12, and that includes shipping!
It can be found here.

Happy Sunday! Go Vikings!

I hear the mountains calling my name...

So excited to be heading to Black Mountain in the morning with the Nail ladies!
I could really use a break from a few things!

I have completed my sitting area :)
I went with a neutral cream color fabric on my ottoman to keep things simple.

One of my finds tonight is on Craigslist
It is a "Pie Rack" that I think could be perfect in any kitchen or dining area for dishes.
(Blair- this made me think of what you've been wanting!)
The description says it is blue and white but it definitely does not appear to be those colors in the picture.
It would be so easy to repaint and add new hardware to dress it up a bit!
They are asking $45 for it, which I think is a great deal!

This cute little cabinet is $42 and is for sale on Etsy.
It is actually a light shade of pink and it has a mosaic on the top.
The Etsy listing shows more images.
This cabinet can be hung on the wall or can sit on another shelf or table.

Thanks for reading! :) More to come next week.
Oh, and Dad, yes, I am centering all the text just to drive you crazy :)

A little Sunday shopping anyone?

I have two great chair finds today!!! These are hard for me not to go after myself!

This first chair is originally from PierOne and you could use them anywhere, living room, dining room, sunroom, seriously anywhere! I love this style of chair and the price is too perfect!
There are two of these chairs for sale here: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/fuo/2010837427.html
They are $25 a piece of both for $45.

I love this next set too, there are four of these Rattan chairs available but you don't have to buy them all!
They are asking $20 per chair, this is another great deal!

Yesterday I found my almost perfect ottoman from a local thrift store.
Yes it is a rocking ottoman and my chair does not rock, but who cares!? It was only $7!
I also found fabric at the same thrift store for $3 and I am recovering this baby as soon as I get my hands on a staple gun! Will post when it is finished!

During the same trip to the thrift store, I found this beauty.
My good friend Allie has been wanting a window to put in her bathroom for a while now and I am hoping this is what she had in mind because I am sending it her way today! I am excited to see how she will use it and what she will put with it, so if she will allow, I want to post after pics of this too!

Happy Sunday Everyone! Go Vikings!

Some things just don't need fixing...

Today was a crazy day around here but I still managed to get some work done and  make some progress with my sitting area, there are some things I still want to tweak but here it is:
I didn't do anything to the chair other than clean it up a bit, and add the cushion and pillow. I painted the table a light shade of green, because I just love green, as you can see by the cushion. Now I am just in search for the perfect ottoman to go with it!

I also found two tables on Craigslist that I think are worthy of posting. They are both listed at $40 which is a little high to me but you can talk most people down :)
This rustic little beauty can be found here: http://raleigh.craigslist.org/fuo/2007870530.html. Some of you are thinking, "Really Katie?" but I think it is perfect just the way it is. It has so much character and I love the old barn wood look of it.

I think this one is also great as is, because like I said, I love green! It looks like it is in great condition as well.

This last find is from Etsy.com. They have tons of awesome handmade and antique things. I thought this sconce was really cute and extremely affordable, only $8! That isn't including S&H costs.
The sad part is that there is only one, and there are just some things you prefer in a pair, and this is one of those for me.

Finding the diamond in the rough...

So since I am an avid Craigslist, Flea market, and Thrift store shopper, I have decided to blog about good finds and give my opinion on how I would fix it up if I were to buy it. Up to this point, I have been buying everything I see value in and fixing it up but, we are running out of space around here. This way I won't have to give up my hobby of thrifty shopping but pass on the good finds to others!

If I do happen to make a purchase (which I have made 2 this week!) I am going to post the before and after pictures as well! This week I bought a chair and a little table to create a sitting area in our bedroom.

My $15 Craigslist find!- The purple cushion was the first to go!
My $5 Table from Craigslist!
When the I am finished touching up these lovely pieces I will post the updated pics!

This entryway bench would be so cute repainted, with a cushion on it, some hooks hanging above it for keys and jackets. Could also be used for a TV stand. Only $25.  http://raleigh.craigslist.org/fuo/2004226301.html
According to the owner this is originally from PierOne. I think it is a great deal at $300. It includes the 4 chairs, table, and hutch. It looks great as is but at that price you could do some painting to make it match your home.
