Baby #2

Baby #2 is on it's way! We can't wait to meet this bundle of joy in March! Noah is really excited to be a big brother! He is catching on to my growing bump and will point to it when you ask where the baby is.

The first trimester has proved to be its typical tough time, which explains my absence for the past few weeks. Now that I'm in my 2nd trimester, I'm hoping to be back to my creative and energetic self soon. I'm really excited for Fall crafts and decor!

Living Room Update- New Table

Happy Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! We were at the beach with family this weekend and it was a such a nice getaway!

When we got home yesterday, our neighbors were loading up their truck with furniture they were going to donate. They asked if we wanted a round table....so I ran over to see it and said YES. I have been on the hunt for a round table to use in our living room for a few weeks now. Everything was either too expensive or too short for our needs. I wanted to spot in the living room for working a puzzle, writing a letter, or paying the bills. My hope was to provide extra seating as well for meals or for chitchat.

If you want to see more of this space before I moved things around last night, check out this post.

The new table is sitting in the back corner of the room with two benches under it. I stole them from the other end of the living room. The lamp behind it was in the bonus room but wasn't being used much. The globe is a recent flea market find for only $5 (because it has no stand- it's in a bowl until I come up with a better solution)

I am considering painting the top of the table. It's pretty scratched up currently. I will update if I do!

With the addition of the table, the Victrola that used to sit here needed a new home. It moved to the other end of the living room where my benches used to sit.

As always, I love changing things up! I am loving the addition to the room and I can't wait to put it to use!

4th of July Party

My mom throws THE BEST parties ever. She is so creative and I love her style. I really do want to BE her in all the ways possible, but especially in her hosting capabilities.

This past weekend we were visiting my parents for the 4th and they threw a party for their friends. I snapped some pics for future party inspiration and I wanted to share those here! Enjoy!

She set up her bar on their screened-in porch, easily my favorite place in the house.

The mantle on the porch was also festive

We set up for the food outside but sadly it rained and we had to move it all in.
I did manage to snap some pics before the rain came.

Every little detail is so cute and festive!

There's my cute dad, grilling the food!

Back to the porch..

Festive appetizers...

I loved the way she set up and decorated!

Here are some pics of my people...
My boys!

My dad, Noah, and me!

I hope you all had a great holiday weekend!

Breezy Playroom

We are really getting hit with heat this summer and we aren't even 2 weeks in. It is torture with the humid, sticky air here in NC.

Lucky for me, my awesome hubby put in two fans in the bonus room in the Spring. It was a surprise for me! He installed them by himself while I was out of town. I was super impressed!

Now there is the perfect breeze up there!

Thanks Gabe! I love our little fans!

Patriotic Burlap Wreath

Last week I decided to make a Patriotic wreath for our door. I wanted to share it tonight since we are creeping up on the 4th of July! I challenged myself to use only what I already had on hand, with the exception of the flags.

This is a rough image of what I used but here's an actual supply list:
- wreath form (I used a wreath I had wrapped in burlap for a different project years ago)
- card stock- white and blue
- red letter stickers
- Silhouette machine
- twine
- 2 flags

I used the Silhouette to cut out the pennants in white and blue cardstock. I used my red stickers to spell out "USA"

I used the twine to thread the pennants together and I tied each end around the wreath. I stuck two flags on the right side and hung it on the door!

This was a super quick and easy project. If I had more of a budget for this project I would've added more but I'm happy with it's simplicity!

Custom Hoop for the Handmade Gift Exchange- Summer 2015

 photo 841F4FED-36AA-43DD-B551-BA84DD42B063_zpszkqxajpe.jpg

Earlier this month I shared the Handmade Gift Exchange with you....HERE. After being paired up with someone, we asked each other some questions and then I got creating!
I knew from the start that I would be making a custom hoop for my partner. I just needed to know her favorite quote or verse and her favorite colors.

Based on my partner's likes, I created this hoop...

I love the look that the ombre thread gave this circular border. I used a solid brown for the writing so it was more legible. I had a lot of fun trying new things on this hoop. I wrapped the outer hoop in ribbon and I think it adds a nice touch.

I also finished the back of the hoop by adding a fresh non-stitched piece of fabric to the back and then I trimmed the edges. I love the finished look it has now, you can't see my stitching at all.

Bring Your Own Craft

Last night I hosted a "bring your own craft" night. It was so much fun!

I wanted to share the idea because it's super easy to host, I just threw out some snacks and gathered supplies for my craft. Everyone else showed up with their own craft in mind and supplies in hand (plus other yummy snacks)!

I set up in the dining room with a card table to house the Silhouette.

Erin worked on moss topiaries...

Kara colored letters for her boys' room...

Allie cut vinyl for gifts...

I worked on a wreath (separate post coming soon)...

I can't wait to host another one soon!
