Blue Mason Jars with Frog Flower Lids- April Craft Night

Earlier this month, I saw an awesome tutorial on Craftaholics Anonymous for DIY Blue Mason Jars and Flower Frog Lids. I loved this idea and knew it would make for a perfect craft night! For the lids, I purchased the April Craft Kit from Craftaholics Anonymous. I found mason jars at our local thrift store for 25 cents each! Please check out Craftaholics Anonymous for tutorials on painting the jars and the lids. You may even want to buy a craft kit, it made it so easy!

Here is our set up before everyone arrived...

Here's my jar (it still needs to be baked so that is it permanently blue)...

Here are the girls, hard at work...

Erin being sassy about having her picture taken while Allie cuts her wire.

Chatting and eating while we let our jars dry

 More wire cutting

Kara, gluing her wire into her lid

Mica!

We had a great night last night! It all ended with the arrival of my mom!! She is here through Saturday! So exciting!!! She and I are headed to The Green Chair Project's Spring Fundraiser Sale! If you are in the Raleigh area, check it out today or tomorrow!

Wine and Design

Last night I went to a local Wine and Design studio with some of my besties. We purchased a Living Social Deal for it a looong time ago and finally got around to using it!

I am a terrible painter....mainly because I am a perfectionist and rely on straight lines and shapes to keep me between the lines. That being said, I was out of my comfort zone, hesitant to put any paint on the canvas for fear of messing up. I know I was extremely annoying with all of my hesitation and was quite negative when it didn't look perfect immediately. In the end, I was really happy with my painting!

I took a few shots on my phone so we wouldn't forget our fun night...

Sarah painted the NC State Bell Tower and Allie painted a beautiful beach scene with Adirondacks.

I recruited Sarah to help me with my leaves :)

Here are our final paintings....

Here is a close-up of mine....

I definitely want to go back and paint again, I think I will be more relaxed now that I feel confident that I can paint something and like it.

I am so excited for tonight! It's time for our monthly craft night! I will be back tomorrow to share our project!

Front Porch Reveal

I am so excited to show off my front porch today!

For the first time since we moved in 2 years ago, I have finally done something to our porch and I am really happy with it. We received a porch swing as a house warming gift and I have always enjoyed sitting on it and swinging but because there wasn't much else to make it welcoming, we don't sit out there very often.

I really wanted to make our porch more welcoming and for it to reflect what was on the inside of our home.

I started by swapping out our old table and chairs set for these awesome green chairs that my brother gave me for Christmas.

I also added a little wooden table and topped it with the ceiling tile that I got in Asheville with my mom last month.

I put these pillows that I made last year in the chairs...

I also made a new pillow with my new outdoor fabric from Fabric.com. It is going on the porch swing with our house number pillow.

I added a few decorative touches with a few things I found this weekend...

I love this awesome chalkboard sign that I found at a shop in Gastonia....

I hung a bird house that I got from Hobby Lobby...

I also found this cute little wooden bench for the table and pulled a candle and vase of faux flowers from my decorative stash.

My wreath from last month's craft night is on the door..

Here it is altogether...

All that is left to do is add some ferns that I plan to purchase this weekend! I am so excited to sit out on our porch when it warms up again!

Thrifty Furniture Finds

I hope you all had an amazing weekend! It is such a cold and rainy day here, perfect for cuddling up on the couch with the fam all afternoon. Yesterday, however, was a beautiful day and we spent it in Gastonia,NC with some of our best friends, Taylor and Billy. Billy and the hubs ran a 5K in the morning and Taylor and I did lots of shopping. It was definitely our lucky day because we found some great deals!!

Here are our men after their 5K!

Here we are on the streets of Belmont, shopping away!

Taylor and Billy bought their beautiful home about a year ago and she is an amazing decorator! She has been wanting to change up her living room for a while now and we found some great new pieces for it at some of her favorite local shops.

We found this awesome coffee table made out of a window...

We also found this beautiful end table...

This adorable milk jug is going to be a perfect little end table...

She painted it blue...

I am in love with this little step stool!

Most of my finds are meant for my front porch makeover, including our score on chevron fabric at Hobby Lobby! I will be sewing pillows and will have a front porch unveiling soon! :)

Taylor also made me some awesome birthday gifts! I am loving this adorable headband...

These coasters were so thoughtful (hydrangeas were our wedding flower!)...

This trivet is adorable! She is so talented!

We had so much fun!!! It definitely left me with a sad feeling that we live so far apart!!

You should be hearing from me a lot this week... lots of crafty events and hopefully completing some projects!

New projects on the horizon...

I have been working out of town this week and got home last night.

When I walked in, I was excited to see this box on the kitchen table...

I am so excited about the quality and beauty of this fabric! I can't wait to get to sewing and recovering next week! Stay tuned to see what's in the making!

I am also getting stuff together for craft night next week! Here is a sneak peek of the our supplies...

I also wanted to show you my new pillows....found on Target clearance last week (the two gray and white ones)... I LOVE them!

I am so pumped for this weekend! We are heading to Gastonia to spend time with some of our favorites, Taylor and Billy! Taylor and I are planning to shop and craft while the boys run a 5K. Stay tuned for what we create!!!

I hope you all have a great weekend!
